One of my favorite Alberta campgrounds. I have not been there since services sites were installed but hear it is still great. Large, very well treed sites, clean, quiet with both pit and flush toilets and a shower house. Kids love the amphitheatre shows, lots of hiking from and near campground - including direct access to a paved trail that is ideal for everything including walking and roller blading and goes for many miles. Just up the road from Boulton Creek campground - at Boulton there is a small store and ice cream shop. Elkwood is a large campground but does not feel like it due to being spread out and well treed. Quiet and relaxing but lots to do in the area. Have always seen wildlife driving up there and while there - mountain sheet (including Rams), deer, moose and in later August early sept have seen bears.
